OKEx Blockdream Ventures Partnership with Matter Labs
We are pleased to announce the strategic investment in Matter Labs, who are are scaling Ethereum with zero-knowledge proofs, with the mission to accelerate this ongoing financial revolution. In this partnership, OKEx Blockdream Ventures stakes with zkSync 2.0 built on the zkEVM, the Solidity compiler with additional L2 specific functionality, it is a first full application on an EVM-Compatible zkRollup.
Layer 2 is a collective term for solutions designed to help scale your application by handling transactions off the Ethereum Mainnet (layer 1) while taking advantage of the robust decentralized security model of Mainnet. Layer 2 platforms alleviate traffic on the Ethereum network, with the added bonus of significantly lower fees. Those DeFi’s flagship apps will blossom whole network.
“ Vitalik noted that rollups will scale the Ethereum ecosystem 100X, we have witnessed the DeFi users grow rapidly to 3 million from 150k in a year, while gas fee 20x. We face the the blockchain trilemma, which are the balance among decentralization, security, and scalability. This is an accurate issue for Etherum. However, ongoing innovation has led to a diverse range of Layer-1 and Layer-2 solutions that are overcoming these obstacles. Thanks to the team devoted last 2 years on zkSync 1.0 for payment and StarkWare scaling for enterprise-grade support,” says Dora, Founder of OKEx Blockdream Ventures.
“ We are happy to be partners with Matter Labs to build an open protocol optimized helping people achieve financial sovereignty in decentralized way. Also we can see that zkSync serves for developers and uers from developer stack, upgradeability and offchain data availability, making Solidity native to ZK Rollups. ” Dora added.
zkSync is built using Matter Labs’ zkRollup technology: a combination of cutting-edge research in zero-knowledge proofs with on-chain data availability. This approach boasts impressive security properties: if implemented correctly, funds placed in a zkRollup are as safe as in the underlying L1.
